Create Desktop Shortcuts for Any WebPage
In this article, I am going to share with you how to create a desktop shortcut for any webpage. You can do this with SimplePractice, Google Calendar, your banking page, etc. When you turn a webpage into a shortcut on your desktop you can easily access it with just one click. For example, I was tired of having to launch my web browser, open my email, and then open my Google Calendar. Instead, I made a shortcut and can now open my Google Calendar with one click. It appears in my dock like any other program does on my computer. As a bonus, I am also going to share a free program with you that will help you fly through your computer at lightning speed. Let’s go.
Creating a Shortcut
1.Open Google Chrome as your web browser.
2. Navigate to the page you want to save as a shortcut.
3.Click the three dots at the top right of the page
4. Navigate to “more tools” and then click “create shortcut”
5.Name it what you wish and click save. (If you choose “open as window”, the webpage will open in a window instead of on your browser. This will make it feel like its own program)
6.Once the shortcut is created you can add the icon to your app bar down below or to your desktop.
Bonus Tip: Navigate Your Computer Lighting Fast
There is a free program for Mac called Alfred. It supercharges the spotlight feature. You can launch apps and webpages extremely quickly. You can switch between programs with just a keystroke. To learn more about Alfred and how it can boost your efficiency check out the video I made about it.
